Overview
After your vehicle is delivered, there may be additional steps to complete your titling and registration. You'll receive a temporary tag to use your vehicle while permanent registration processes, and some states require post-delivery verification forms where you take your vehicle to an approved inspector. Once everything is submitted, you'll track the arrival of your permanent plates and title.
Note for New York buyers: If you purchased a street-legal vehicle with the automated titling and registration option, you are required to visit a New York DMV inspection station after receiving your vehicle. This is a state requirement for all street-legal vehicles registered in New York.
How It Works
After delivery, Ekho will provide a temporary tag so you can use your vehicle while your titling and registration is processed by the state. If your state requires post-delivery verification, you'll download forms, take your vehicle to an approved verifier, upload the completed forms for review, then mail the originals back to Ekho. Once all documents are submitted, Ekho submits everything to your state's DMV. The DMV processes your registration and mails permanent plates to you, and the title (if financing, sent to your lender; if paying cash, mailed to you).
Complete Post-Delivery Verification
You'll know this applies if you see "Verification forms" in your document requirements or receive an email notification after delivery. Some states require physical vehicle inspection before completing registration.
What's Required: download state-specific verification forms, take your vehicle to an approved verifier (DMV, licensed dealer, or licensed inspector), verifier inspects vehicle and completes the official form, upload completed forms for Ekho team review, and ship original forms back to Ekho using prepaid label.
Timeline: Must be completed as soon as possible. Recommended: complete within 7 days to avoid registration delays. Failure to return verification forms may result in expired temporary tags.

Get Forms Verified
Find an Approved Verifier

Use the "View approved locations" section on the page for links to verifier lists.Visit with Vehicle and Forms
Bring your vehicle, blank verification form(s), vehicle registration or temporary tag, and photo ID. The verifier will inspect your vehicle, verify the VIN, and complete the form. They'll sign and stamp it officially.
Warning: Do not fill out the form yourself. The verifier must complete, sign, and stamp the form while inspecting your vehicle.
You can legally drive your vehicle to the verifier using your temporary tag.

Review typically takes 1-3 business days. If approved, status changes to "Approved" and Ekho provides a shipping label. If corrections needed, you'll see the specific issue and can upload a corrected version.
